+mfplat implementation and continued work +# What has remained the same from previous Proton-GE builds? +Wine-staging is no longer used, but we keep it within the repository in case it is discovered that patches are needed from it later on. +WINE upstream repo has been changed to Proton experimental bleeding edge. Additionally, from previous discussions I've had with some other devs on official proton, they requested that I modify the name so that the GE versions were easier to differentiate, which is why the GE prefix has been moved to the front of the name. +I needed a way to express that the base is all Proton7 and to reset the minor versions. There are several reasons this was done, which are explained in detail in the post above. +The base for WINE was changed from wine upstream to Proton experimental, and staging currently is not used in this new build. I’m not having any issues with any other games… in fact, Gearbox’s own Borderlands 2 and Deserts of Kharak both work just fine. Since the game itself works fine, I’m not sure if it’s really a graphics-related issue, but who knows?

I have updated my graphics drivers and even bought a new video card, but the problem persists.
#STEAM HOMEWORLD REMASTERED COLLECTION CRASHING SOFTWARE#
I have disabled all Anti-Virus software before launching it. I have reinstalled the game several times on Steam and verified its file integrity.
#STEAM HOMEWORLD REMASTERED COLLECTION CRASHING PATCH#
I’ve been holding out for a patch to fix this issue, but no such luck.ĭoes anyone have any idea what might be causing this? It seems like I’m not the only one with this issue, but I haven’t been able to find any working solutions online. I could play the game using this shortcut, I suppose, but I’d rather not as Gearbox themselves have recommended against it. Launching Homeworld 1 by using a shortcut with “-dlccampaign HW1Campaign.big -campaign HomeworldClassic -moviepath DataHW1Campaign -mod compatibility.big” added works just fine, so the problem doesn’t appear to be with the games themselves. Since this game was released almost a year ago, I have been unable to launch it through Steam as the launcher always crashes.
